Just do it. I mean cars are a pretty lousy investment to begin with for the most part since they depreciate as soon as they're driven off the lot. Hang on to those original parts if possible and reinstall them when selling but otherwise, your car, your money, have fun with it.
Felt the need to get that out what with all these articles that mildly suggest not modifying a car popping up.

This reminds me of that Liberty Mutual commercial where the guy buys a $40k car that gets t-boned, he only gets $37k because depreciation and he wonders how it depreciated before its first oil change. He lost $3k in value by driving off the lot.
I don't know if that was relevant at all but whatevs.

I don't think the message was "don't modify". The message I think Doug was trying to say is "don't think modding you car is going to make it more valuable to the next guy when you go to sell it."

Just don't modify if a) your car is a classic or b) your car is considered a future classic and you want to sell.
